WE INVEST IN AMERICAN YOUTH
We aim to foster global-ready American citizens by equipping high school youth with the skills, experiences and connections necessary to navigate future careers in an increasingly hyperconnected and interdependent world.
Since 2008 APSA has provided 400 diverse American high school
students from 14 cities across the US with over $2M in scholarships
to participate in our transformative global education programs in China.
We have committed to reaching 1000 American youth by 2020.
Our core goal is to increase the overall diversity and number of
American youth who are actively developing foreign language fluency,
cross-cultural awareness and 21st-century skills.
We also strive to enhance and expand the types of study abroad and cultural exchange programs that inspire inclusion, creativity and collaboration
in global education.
We believe that together we can mentor a global generation of American youth
to develop the necessary skills, mindset and attitudes to
thrive in a changing world.

SCHOLAR TESTIMONIALS
"APSA provided a genuine experience with other motivated students that
became lifelong friends and has
shaped my future in
ways I'm still figuring out."
EVAN THORNTON-KOLBE
APSA SCHOLAR 2014
When I returned home I felt as though it was my duty to encourage others to
travel and learn about other cultures first hand rather than depending solely on
media. I recruited youth in my school to
continue learning Chinese and to study
abroad.
If my achievement can influence more
youth to find value in being culturally
competent, there is no doubt our world
will be a better place.
